The church's Purpose

The role of the church is to testify to God’s actions in the world, which means proclaiming what God has done and continues to do in the world today through the church and through God’s people. “The Bible is the church’s book because it contains the story the church is compelled to tell.” (Pregeant) We promise to proclaim this story in all that we do when we gather together to hear God’s word, share the sacraments (holy baptism and holy communion), be in fellowship with one another, be a witness in the world to God’s story and when we serve together.

 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

 And may the living out of our guiding statements compel us to continue to tell God’s story and help us to make our faith visible. Amen
