Giving is an important part of our ministry at Calvary Lutheran Church (CLC). Every year, our offerings support not only our
operations and in-house ministries, but also many ministries outside our walls locally, nationally and internationally.
We offer a number of ways for you to make your financial gifts:
In addition to our weekly offerings received at each worship service, offerings to CLC may be made through our Online Donations Program (previously Simply Giving). You can set up a one-time donation to a specific project and/or a recurring donation to general giving from your checking, savings account, debit or credit card.
(If you are currently using Simply Giving, please contact the church office with your email address. Once we have added this to our records, you can use the link below to login with that email address. You will have the ability to view and print your payment history, as well as edit any transactions or make any additional donations or payments.)
Time & Talent
In addition to your financial gifts, your time and talents can make an enormous difference in accomplishing God's plan on Earth. Visit the Getting Involved page to see some of the many ways you can get directly involved in God's work.
Did you know that when you purchase food certificates you are helping both Church Response and CLC? Church Response receives 3% of each purchase and CLC receives 2% of each purchase. We have food certificates for Family Thrift, Safeway and Wal-Mart. Food certificates are available at the Ministry Center after worship services or may be purchased in the church office during the week.
Calvary lutheran church endowment fund
The Calvary Lutheran Church Endowment Fund was established in 1985 at the annual congregational meeting. It is managed by an elected committee of Calvary members. All gifts to the Fund are tax deductible. Annually, up to five percent of the Fund value at the end of the prior year is approved to be disbursed in the subsequent year. The disbursements may be used for Calvary Lutheran Church programs, outreach into the community, and state programs and missions of the ELCA.
Please consider Calvary Lutheran Church, or its Endowment Fund, in your estate planning. If you have designated the church as part of your estate plan, or would like to consider doing so, please notify the Pastor or a member of the Endowment Committee.
stocks and securities
Gifts of marketable securities can be an advantageous way to make a substantial contribution to support CLC. If you have held the stock for more than a year and it has appreciated in value, there is a win-win opportunity for you under current tax law. An individual can gift stock to CLC, take a charitable deduction for the fair market value, and not pay taxes on the capital gains portion of the gift value. The gift value is established by the mean between the stock high and low price on the date of transfer.
To make a donation, you would need to supply your brokerage firm with Calvary’s Account number, Registration, Type of account, and DTC number. Please contact the church office for this information.

ELCA World Hunger
God's Global BarnYard
An animal can make a world of difference for a family in need in various countries around the world. Animals provide food to eat, fertilizer to grow crops and offspring to sell on the market. With one gift, you can help a family escape the cycle of hunger and poverty.
In October, Pre-5th graders will be doing a Global Barnyard craft project to be returned with their gifts of money during the Christmas Worship celebration December 9th. (Noisy Offering)
Your gift carries God’s love to others, making a difference in their lives and in the world. Your donations support long-term, sustainable solutions that ensure that these good gifts last for more than a couple of days or weeks. They keep on giving for years to come.
Back Pack Program
Did you know...The Rapid City BackPack Program currently provides more than 1,760 weekend packages of food to at-risk, chronically hungry school children. A single food package costs $4.50. It costs $150 to feed a child for an entire school year. If you are interested in supporting the BackPack Program, stop by the church office and drop off your donation.
Lets raise our additional $450+ in donations in the next 4 weeks... that's just $100 a week... we can do this:)
